Seth Rogen and James Franco have long been playing a cat and mouse game with the media with their elaborate videos and photo shoots “poking” fun at their gayness. The latest in the series of “jokes” comes in the form of Naked and Afraid, a Discovery Channel show about a “duo left high and dry with no food, no water…and no clothes. They must survive on their own for a full twenty-one days, with nothing but one personal item each and the knowledge that the only prize is their pride and sense of accomplishment.” So naturally, Rogen and Franco would want to be a part of it.
As if the Kanye West/Kim Kardashian parody wasn’t enough, the Freaks and Geeks alumni have taken the promotion of their next movie together, The Interview, to the next level by using Naked and Afraid as a way to semi-align with the plot of the movie, which finds them in North Korea trying to take out Kim Jong-un per the request of the CIA.
And so with their “promotional” appearance on a show that requires them to be “comically” naked in front of one another that has nothing to do with the release of their film, it arouses just the slightest bit of suspicion that maybe the two of them are trying to tell us something.
