Kreayshawn built up a lot of hype for herself in the wake of 2010’s internet darling, “Gucci Gucci.” Perhaps fearing the pressure of living up to the single’s goodness for an entire album, Kreayshawn didn’t release a full-length record until 2012 with Somethin’ Bout Kreay. Incidentally, the only tangible form of the album was sold at Hot Topic. Whether or not this had to do with the minimal sales is probably unrelated, but why not add one more reason to the list of loving to hate Hot Topic? From popsicles to pizza
In spite of the shame of her reviews and album sales, as well as recently having a child, Kreayshawn continues to prove that 1) she doesn’t give a fuck about public opinion and 2) she still knows that it’s the simple things in life (chiefly, pizza) that are most important. Her latest single, “Pizza Song,” is slated to be released on an as of yet untitled EP. Clearly, Kreay has a thing for food as you can see from this still taken from the video for a single called “Breakfast”
If you have a pulse, you probably like pizza and can at least semi get on board with a song that celebrates its general celestialness. And even if you hate it, I doubt you would leave your pilates class in protest if it came on. Lyrics like “Go to the Domino’s and shake that ass for a pizza” and “Jiggle that fat/Twerk it for that pizza/Workin up that appetite” make it pretty impossible to resist Kreayshawn’s charm. She is the ultimate pizza temptress, the goddess of caloric foods. And if she continues to make a name for herself in this way, there’s a strong chance she’ll come back from the failure of Somethin’ Bout Kreay. Listen for yourself here.
